Ordered wrong item, then won't cancel order.


I was trying with much difficulty to locate a particular item specifically: Samsung GX-SM530CF Cable Box and Streaming Media Player with Built-In Wi-Fi. Contacted sears store in Hawaii on Friday March 13, 2015 and was rerouted to a Sears customer service agent "Allie" who, after I told her what I was looking for and provided the above model number, told me they have a new model in stock and would ship it to me. After giving the her my credit card number I asked her to wait on the phone with me until I received the email verifying the order. A few minutes later I received the order email which listed the item as:

Samsung Smart 3D Blu-Ray Disc Player with Built-In WiFi - BD-H6500

I explained right away that this was not the correct item and asked her to cancel the order, which she said she did. I later called back Sears customer support to confirm that it was canceled and was told that the order cannot be cancelled, even a few minutes after placing it and the only way to obtain a refund was to refuse the shipment or take it back to a local Sears store. As a gesture of good will, they offered me a 10% discount on future sears online merchandise. This "gesture" is unacceptable given that now I am inconveienced due to their mistake and I have to take the merchandise back. An acceptable solution would be to be able to cancel the order right away or have someone pick up the item at my chosen time, and refund the money. And maybe offer a larger discount. Also retrain the customer service agents and not have them give out inaccurate information ((which was that she could and would cancel the order)

Note: as of this time I still haven't received the item, will write a follow-up when I receive it, after I return it and (hopefully( obtain a refund.
